Hello! I'm Iván Cárdenes, a passionate photographer specializing in astrophotography and natural landscapes. I capture the majesty of the night skies and the beauty of nature, aiming to connect people with the universe that surrounds us. My passion for photography began as a hobby but transformed into an essential part of my life when I discovered the magic of capturing starry skies. Everything changed one night when, almost by chance, I pointed my camera at the night sky. Seeing on the screen what my eyes couldn't perceive completely fascinated me. Since then, the night has become my meeting place with the invisible. Over time, I have learned basic astronomy and refined techniques to capture the Milky Way. Each night outing is a mix of patience, cold, and silence, but also a moment to disconnect and enjoy something much greater than ourselves. As a physical education and sports educator, I dedicate my life to promoting health and well-being through movement and contact with nature. My connection to photography and science extends to this work, as I firmly believe that the balance between body and mind is achieved by connecting with our natural surroundings. Every photography outing is an opportunity not only to capture the beauty of the cosmos but also to recharge and share this connection with those around me. Currently, I work with a Fujifilm X-T5 and a set of lenses, including the Meike 12mm f/2.0, Samyang 135mm f/2.0, Fujinon 16-55mm f/2.8, and Fujinon 70-300mm with a teleconverter, among others. Recently, I have started familiarizing myself with the Benro Polaris motorized tripod head, which offers new possibilities for precision and tracking in my astrophotography captures. My setup is complemented by a Manfrotto 255 tripod, providing the necessary stability for long exposures and changing conditions. For editing my images, I use a variety of tools that bring each shot to life. The software I work with includes Lightroom, Siril, Photoshop, Starry Landscape Stacker, and Luminar Neo, each contributing its unique touch to the post-production and refinement of my photographs.
